Imagine that you’re in the middle of an important work demonstration, but all of a sudden… technical difficulties with the presentation system. Well, that’s exactly what happened to me, and was the most embarrassing and unprofessional situation that I could have been in! I needed a hero to help me turn the situation around.
It was my bi-annual performance review and I was all set to do a presentation on my progress for the three executives who have positions above me. I had spent weeks preparing this presentation and had thought of everything, including test running the presentation the day before. Even though I tried to anticipate and prepare for every possible outcome, on the day of the presentation it all went wrong.
I stood up in front of all my superiors and then tried to load my presentation up onto the projector screen and nothing happened. The powerpoint loaded on my laptop, but would not load on the screen so everyone could see. I was so embarrassed and frustrated at the situation that I was put in because of the difficult technology, or in this case, a system that just doesn’t work. I had spent weeks preparing for this moment and it all went wrong! Thankfully, my bosses were gracious enough to postpone my bi-annual review till the afternoon, but now, I had to figure out how to fix this problem as soon as possible.
Since I work at a smaller company, we do not have an IT department. That meant that it was up to me to figure out how to fix this in a few short hours. I started Googling what could possibly be wrong with the presentation system, but I had no idea what I was even looking for and became very lost. I began the search for a company that could get someone to answer all my questions and fix whatever was wrong with the system. This search led me to AV HERO.

All I had to do was visit their site and describe my situation. Within the hour, a Hero in my area responded and knew exactly what went wrong with the presentation system and how to fix it.
I worked with them over the phone to try and figure out the issue with the system, but the problem ended up being too confusing for me to take care of myself. The Hero was more than happy to come out to my workplace and repair the presentation system for me. They showed up, resolved the issue, and were able to explain more about the system and the troubleshooting, so I should be able to fix it myself if it happens again.
Later that afternoon, thanks to their help, I was able to present seamlessly with no technical difficulties and blow my superiors away with my presentation. AV HERO saved the day!
